Privacy Policy
Effective date: September 25, 2025
Last updated: May 16, 2026
Wamims ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Wamims mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you use the App or related services.
1. Who we are
Wamims is a social entertainment platform where users can watch short-form video content and participate in our in-app credits system ("Bolts"). Bolts may be used only in accordance with the App's rules, including donation or allocation to approved projects or organizations listed in the App, where applicable.
2. Information we collect
2.1 Information you provide
- Account information: such as name, email address, date of birth (where required or permitted), profile details, and profile image.
- Communications: information you send when you contact support or interact with community features.
- Payment-related information: if you make purchases or donations through the App, payment information is processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store full payment card numbers on our servers.
2.2 Information collected automatically
- Device and technical data: such as device type, operating system, app version, IP address, and device identifiers compatible with platform rules.
- Usage data: such as content viewed or interacted with, session activity, features used, in-app events related to Bolts (earning, balance changes, donations or allocations where applicable), and diagnostics needed to operate and secure the App.
- Approximate location: derived from IP address where permitted, unless you grant more precise location permission for a specific feature.
2.3 Information from third parties
If you choose to sign in with a third-party account (for example Apple, Google, or Facebook), we may receive basic profile information as permitted by your settings and the provider.
3. How we use information
We use information to:
- Provide, operate, and maintain the App and its features;
- Create and manage accounts and authenticate users;
- Maintain integrity of the Bolts program and related donation or allocation mechanics, including fraud prevention and abuse detection;
- Process transactions and communicate about them;
- Personalize content recommendations and improve performance and user experience;
- Communicate service updates, security notices, and support responses;
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms;
- Protect users, the public, and our rights.
4. Bolts and charitable use
Bolts are in-app digital credits with rules defined in the App. They are not cash, are not a bank account or stored-value instrument, and cannot be redeemed for money by users except where explicitly stated in the App and permitted by applicable law. Where Bolts can be donated or allocated, we may maintain records for transparency, auditing, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We may use cookies, local storage, SDK-based technologies, and similar tools as appropriate for web properties and the App ecosystem, including analytics and security. You can control certain tracking through device settings where available.
6. Sharing of information
We may share information with:
- Service providers who assist us with hosting, analytics, customer support, email delivery, security, verification, content delivery, and payment processing;
- Professional advisers where required;
- Authorities when required by law or to protect safety and rights;
- Business transfers in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to legally required safeguards.
We require service providers to use information only for the services they provide to us and in line with this Policy and applicable law.
7. Advertising and analytics
Depending on your region and App configuration, we may use advertising or measurement partners. Where required, we will seek consent or offer choices consistent with platform settings and applicable law.
8. Data retention
We retain information for as long as needed to provide the App, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, comply with law, and for legitimate business needs such as security and fraud prevention.
9. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
10. Children's privacy
The App is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children in violation of applicable children's privacy laws. If you believe we have collected information from a child, contact us.
11. International transfers
If we transfer information across borders, we do so using mechanisms recognized under applicable law where required.
12. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to certain processing, and to data portability. Contact us to exercise applicable rights; we may need to verify your identity.
13. EEA / UK (summary)
If you are in the EEA or UK, our processing may rely on legal bases such as contract, legitimate interests, consent where required, or legal obligation.
14. California (summary)
If California law applies, you may have additional rights. Contact us to make a request.
